Rising Edge Control Solutions Ltd was formed to provide a quality service to the world of process automation. To educate, improve productive output and operating efficiency in a very competitive global manufacturing market. Rising Edge is dedicated to meet client expectation and achieve the required results.

Company founder, Glyn Pengelly has over 19 years experience in PLC control and automation systems. Glyn graduated from the University of Wales College, Cardiff (formerly UWIST) in 1990 with a BEng Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Glyn has learnt many new systems and has experience from the early Allen-Bradley PLC5/250 (1991) right through the PLC5 range. His early work was in large Bulk Materials Handling machines, many of which went to countries such as China, America and South Africa.
Working on the Coal Import Stockyard machines at Portbury Dock, Bristol, Glyn has designed, programmed and spent 6 months on-site commissioning the PLC system for all 3 stacker/reclaimer machines. These were controlled using GEM80/163 processors. His most recent experience has been designing and programming machines for the Lead-Acid Battery Industry.

This ranges from initial conception, design, programming, Stacker Reclaim
test, final installation, commissioning, customer liaison and technical support. This has involved worldwide travel to countries that include U.S.A, China, South Korea, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and France. Glyn has gained experience in working with customers and appreciating the requirements, pressures and demands of a high output production environment. Areas of control include AC drives, analogue positioning, temperature control, high speed positioning - encoders, complex sequence control - auto & manual, pressure leak testing, hydraulic/pneumatic control, process analysis, rationalisation and sequence optimisation to increase output.

The company has recently gained experience on Servo systems working with AB Kinetix6000 and Ultra3000 systems. These have used basic linear axis positioning and high speed multi axis cammed applications. All through his career, Glyn has enjoyed the challenge of trying something new and seeing the successful results from his efforts.
